Game review: The Rabbit

Well. Time to dispose of it and bring in a new one.

Summary: The short and catchy paragraphs do aid the player in having fun and the playtime is insanely short. It’s still worth your time, since this game is a one of a kind, grow, sim, rabbit experimenter. Since you know, animal tests should be illegal, so feel free to test online rabbits!

Introduction to the game

In this super short non-linear twine game you play as a researcher, toying with a rabbit. It’s about you, a rabbit in a cage, and six-eyedroppers. In order: “teeth, horns, fur, eyes, hands, tails.” No more information is really given to the player before we start our experimenting. The game features a bleached color palette and super minimalistic UI. For those without a headset, or for those who can’t always play audio, this game doesn’t require it.

My opinion

This game feels like the old flash Grow games by eye maze. Except, this “grow” game lets you literally grow a rabbit, and it doesn’t have the stunning visuals. However, in the essence, it’s the same logic applied, for the player needs to find the right order of applied drops. Rather the wrong order I should say, for this is a horror game.

My first attempt was actually a horrendous one resulting in something bad, bad for the player of course. After many more attempts, we can conclude that there are only a few “interesting” endings, and the game calls it. The short and catchy paragraphs do aid the player in having fun and the playtime is insanely short, even shorter I can argue than Your Phone Dies in 20 Seconds.

We can’t add a little more than this to the review, for it was again, a shorter game. It’s still worth your time, since this game is a one of a kind, grow, sim, rabbit experimenter. Since you know, animal tests should be illegal, so feel free to test online rabbits!
