Game review: Ghost Story

It is never the end.

Lola

Summary: A true visual novel at its finest. Simply lean back, no need for thinking, just “enjoying” and reading! The game features good audio, a lot of not too annoying animations, and creepy surreal images. One could really feel the tag of ghosts coming to life in this game. Story-wise it’s interesting and has an amazing hook, I am sad there weren’t any other endings to explore than one.

Introduction to the game

A visual novel about existential horror, short, and eerie, inspired by my the author’s own existential angst. The game features images and sounds, luckily the sound isn’t mandatory for this one, so feel free to make it less scary for you. The story is download only, so no browser play is possible, don’t worry, itch.io doesn’t supply viruses! The text is written in an amazing font with perfectly balanced color, easy on the eyes yet readable.

My opinion

Immediate start? No UI? No options? Perfect! A true visual novel at its finest. Simply lean back, no need for thinking, just “enjoying” and reading! After diving in a little deeper the story presents paragraphs corrupted, broken, and weirdly. We could assume the game is wrongly made, but no, it’s better than that, it’s all part of it, part of the story unfolding itself amazingly.

The story is worth your time and playtime is short, so try this amazing story/game out!
